South Florida PBS honors the life and legacy of TV broadcast pioneer and its founding CEO,  George Dooley.  Under his leadership, the station launched groundbreaking programs like Que Pasa USA and the Nightly Business Report and became a technological leader as Florida’s first public television station to convert to digital broadcast.  His commitment to lifelong learning and community service lives on in the South Florida PBS mission… and his vision for innovation continues to inspire us.

The invasion of the Bay of Pigs (Cuba, 1961) is revealed to us, 60 years later, in the voices of its protagonists in the film "Veritas." Narrated with the distance of an entire lifetime, they recount the events ranging from military preparation, the battle on Cuban beaches, the humiliations of imprisonment, and their liberation. The horrors of war, the feeling of abandonment (due to the promised aid not materializing), are exhaustively re-lived by these men who, from exile, have never stopped missing their country. Join us tomorrow at Savor Cinema for an exclusive screening of Reel South's "Veritas" featuring a talk-back with the films directors. To RVSP, visit: https://lnkd.in/gJCw25sA

Bringing Our Team Together in an Immersive Art World   At South Florida PBS, we're always looking for innovative ways to collaborate and engage our employees. Yesterday, we decided to host our latest staff meeting in a truly unique setting - the experiential realm of Mad Arts, an immersive art experience museum located in South Florida.   Mad Arts is Broward’s newest immersive art experience, a visionary playground for award-winning art, light and cutting-edge innovation that stimulates the senses and engages the mind. Our South Florida PBS team was able to wander through these highly engaging environments, interact with the art in meaningful ways and draw inspiration from the installations. Following the tours, Mad Arts founder and CEO, Marc Aptakins, spoke to our staff as we enjoyed a delicious lunch, about his vision and the fascinating history of the museum.   Cutting-edge museums like Mad Arts are revolutionizing how we experience art and multimedia storytelling. We're excited to continue exploring these types of immersive environments as engaging new venues for corporate meetings, team building, and ideation sessions that merge expression and innovation.
