    Had a blast chatting with an old friend Tim Masek of Storetasker. We got to chat a bit about: 1. What does SourceMedium do and who we do it for. 2. Which incumbent solutions we compete against ("The Modern Data Stack") and why we're better. 3. A case study of how we helped CPAP.com save money and simplify its data management stack, allowing internal tech team to focus on business-specific initiatives. 4. A case study of how we helped Avenue Z scale its managed dashboard offering, increasing their close rate while amplifying the value they provide for clients. 5. How we differentiate with large incumbents by setting a company-wide goal of spending 80% of our week focusing on solving high-value customer problems. 6. How we model our team & culture after iconic infrastructure companies like Palantir Technologies and HashiCorp. 7. How we optimize for efficiency and productivity by closely tracking ARR / FTE. 8.     Last week I was the recipient of a cold outreach email from a super friendly sales rep. I read his pitch, but countered with all the questions his initial message didn't answer. If you have ever tried to sell me something you know I'm going to ask about your CSAT score. Why? It is a prime indicator of how well your team takes care of its customers after the sales process. In his message back to me, I was informed that the current CSAT score was among the highest in his industry, 71%. Now, does that sound like a high score to anyone else? Anything below 85% seems bad. That's a B by standard grading practices. Not even a B . I don't often brag - it's not who I am. But today, I need to brag about the CSA Team at SourceMedium. Currently we have a 100% CSAT score and have maintained that 100% since deploying our survey last year. This team goes above and beyond every day to ensure that each one of our customers not only gets an answer, but an educational explanation to each and every one of their questions. They're teachers, data enthusiasts, and most importantly, they're people who genuinely care about each and every one of our customers. Customer loyalty will follow. And if you try to sell me something, you better come with at least an 85% CSAT score! 😁

    Having the widest UTM params coverage was a mission for SourceMedium since day 1. (given our namesake) Today I'm excited to announce that we've just incorporated Northbeam parameters to further boost UTM coverage across our entire customer base. H/T to Jonathan Snow, DMD for being a thought partner on this and Samuel Middleton for working out the logic. UTMs can litter across many difference source systems besides GA. We've done the legwork over the last 4 years to construct a "UTM Fabric" that is truly unmatched. How does it work? We take UTM's from: - Shopify server side first touch last touch - GA Universal GA4 - Referral domains - Elevar Littledata Blotout - Northbeam params - fbclid gclid - Shopify sales channel - Zero party attribution from Fairing and KnoCommerce With all of these sources combined, we can easily attribution 20% - 50% more orders to UTMs that would've otherwise been "(none) / (none)". Are you obsessed with UTMs as much as we are? What are we missing?

    From being our 3rd customer ever to me investing in their series B, OLIPOP PBC has been a brand I could truly sink my loyalty into. Witnessing and supporting their growth taught us how to scale with our customers and always skating ahead of the puck to help them address the constantly evolving challenges around data. We had the fortune to connect with Melanie Edwards, Brian Gerhardstein, Kyle King and the rest of the ecomm team at the Ecommerce Experience Evolution [EEE] conference last week. We got to spend some quality discussing their (fascinating) challenges during a period of hyper scaling. It was the perfect example of why SourceMedium needed to evolve from a dashboard company to an infrastructural company. (more on this later) To truly help our customer future-proof their growth, a purpose-built data infrastructure solution for omnichannel brands is the only way to go. Now back to my Olipop grape soda. 🍇
