Severe drought happens somewhere in the U.S. every year. Because of rising temperatures and other environmental shifts, drought is a widespread problem that's unfortunately only getting worse. Thanks to Project BRAVO, El Paso Community Action Program’s AguasEsperanza Project, several families in the Hueco Tanks Estates colonia in eastern El Paso have four SOURCE® Hydropanel® systems to supply them with hydration! Now, with a $150k grant from Wells Fargo, Project Bravo can expand its pilot program so more low-income people in the area have reliable, safe drinking water. This is the kind of work we at SOURCE love to do! Recently, the local KVIA news station published a story on the program, which you can read here: https://lnkd.in/gZw7kqjw With several families already supplied with their own SOURCE sustainable drinking water system, the new grant will help Project Bravo expand the program to as many as 11 more families living in the same community. Olga Thomas, one recipient, says it’s been a lifesaver for her, as she had to previously buy water for cooking and drinking–which, for an elder with health conditions, could be challenging. Thomas is enthusiastic about getting her neighbors to adopt SOURCE for their water needs. "And if I could, I would go door to door and talk to them and show them. I would even put a sign saying, you know, [come] over, check it out, and look how it works."
