Earlier this week the Metro Board appointed Blake Ethridge as Board Chair and Gwen L Robinson as Vice Chair of Metro's Board of Trustees. “Having two experienced leaders like Blake and Gwen at the helm leading the Metro board is extraordinary,” said Darryl Haley, Metro CEO & General Manager. “They both care deeply about our community and have a robust understanding of the impact Metro plays in not only improving the quality of life of our citizens, but in serving as an economic driver for our region.” Mr. Ethridge replaces former Chairperson Kreg Keesee, who served on the board for 10 years, including eight years as Chair. Keesee’s dedicated leadership on the board has been marked by numerous initiatives that have shaped the future of public transit in the region, including the successful passage of Issue 7, which has allowed Metro to bring to life revolutionary service enhancements. We look forward to their leadership in the coming years as we continue to roll out our Reinventing Metro plan. Read more https://bit.ly/3ShIM1V

We're very pleased to announce that Metro and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 627 have successfully reached a new three-year labor contract. The new contract is a testament to Metro's commitment to its employees and the community it serves, and is also evidence of our great working relationship with Union leaders. By investing in its workforce, Metro is investing in the future of transportation in the Cincinnati region.

Last month, we were honored to have Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey provide the keynote at our Safety Luncheon. At this year's luncheon, we honored a total of 439 operators and 81 mechanics for their outstanding safety performance, with 69 receiving awards for reaching significant safety milestones in 2023. Thank you to Sheriff McGuffey for providing an inspiring and insightful keynote presentation.

Kayla Miller M.Ed. So glad you were able to join us today. Thank you for your time and commitment.
Had a great time with Maria Jones and the Cincinnati Metro team. I have always wanted to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati. It’s such a blessing to help a family achieve their dream of owning a home.

What a great presentation yesterday by Cincinnati Metro and HDR on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). Sharyn LaCombe, AICP, ENV SP LaCombe, Metro BRT Lead, gave an update on BRT in Cincinnati and Gina Thomas, HDR BRT Lead, Josh Sikich, HDR Ohio Transit Lead, Amy Snell Yost, AICP, Transit Planner, taught a BRT 101 course over lunch at the Architects and Professional Engineers in Cincinnati Service (APECS) event. Key takeaways for me included the importance of off-board fare collection and the importance of selecting the right vehicle to fit the BRT configuration and design (or vise versa). Thanks for having us Abby Huffman, P. E.!
