Thanks so much for coming out to cheer on the athletes! We appreciate Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District hosting us 🥎
Well, I lasted about 60 seconds watching a Special Olympics Oregon softball game with my 9-year-old before I just quietly lost it behind my sunglasses. To see #sports, #inclusion, #belonging, and #volunteerism come together so simply and profoundly on the diamond was borderline overwhelming. Took me a full inning to get ahold of myself. It's all ages, genders, ethnicities coming together in earnest competition and optimism... and just being a part of something FUN... Together... It's just beautiful, life affirming stuff. And always generates good conversation between my kid and I. Grateful for the opportunities I have to share the breadth of our communities with her. Thank you Special Olympics Oregon for inviting us today. We're so glad to have you at our Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District facilities. (1/3 of the way to a #JimmyV -- the V Foundation -- Day!)
