The view from the rooftop is bright as Prologis makes progress toward its goal of 1 GW of on-site solar by 2025.
1 GW of solar by the end of 2025 —the clock is ticking! ⏱ This project is a shining example of how we will get there. In New Jersey, approximately 89MW of community solar is planned for Prologis rooftops. These projects will help our customers to reduce their emissions, benefit low- to moderate-income community residents who gain affordable access to renewable energy and improve grid resilience. We were joined by Mayor Sam Joshi; State Senators Patrick Diegnan and Bob Smith; Assemblymen Sterley Stanley and Robert Karabinchak; NJBPU President Christine Guhl-Sadovy; EPA Administrator Lisa Garcia; and Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. last week to recognize our community solar work. Partnerships are key to a community solar program’s success, and we are appreciative of our close collaboration with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Solar Landscape. Solar Landscape leaders joined Prologis to host Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr., US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, and community leaders for a rooftop event celebrating the Solar For All program, which will expand state and federal investments nationwide in projects like this 370,000 square foot installation. This project is part of a community solar portfolio on Prologis rooftops that will soon serve 15,000 local homes and which supports Prologis's goal to deploy 1GW of on-site solar and battery storage by 2025. “Rooftop solar projects like this one enable Prologis customers to reduce their emissions, benefit local communities by gaining access to renewable energy, and improve grid resilience,” said Prologis Senior Vice President and Market Officer Mike Sacro. “Approximately 89MW of community solar will be built on Prologis rooftops in New Jersey between now and spring 2026, with the majority of the energy benefitting low/moderate-income residents through community solar discounts.” Read More ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ezZnF7KT #CRE #SolarForAll
