ATTENTION POSTDOCS: Apply for the 2025 SOT Colgate-Palmolive Postdoctoral Fellowship Award in In Vitro Toxicology to receive funding to advance the development of alternatives to animal testing in toxicological research. The award is given annually and includes stipend and research-related costs (up to $44,000) for one year. Postdoctoral trainees in their first year of study beyond the PhD, MD, or DVM degree who are at academic institutions, federal/national laboratories, or research institutes worldwide may apply. Apply for the 2024 SOT Colgate-Palmolive Grant for Alternative Research that will provide up to $40,000 for research that promotes, develops, refines, or validates scientifically acceptable animal alternative methods to facilitate the safety assessment of new chemicals and formulations. Scientists at any stage of career progression may submit a proposal. High priority will be given to projects that use in vitro or nonanimal models in one of the following research areas: (1) reproductive and developmental toxicology; (2) neurotoxicology; (3) systemic toxicology; (4) sensitization; or (5) acute toxicity. ATTENTION GRADUATE STUDENTS: SOT has two Supported Award opportunities available to support your research: the SOT Bristol Myers Squibb Graduate Student Research Training Award to Promote Diversity in Toxicology and the SOT Colgate-Palmolive Award for Student Research Training in Alternative Methods. A few months ago, SOT Council shared proposed changes to the Constitution and Bylaws with the membership for feedback. Everyone’s input was appreciated. Now, Full, Emeritus Full, and Retired Full members are voting on the five proposed changes. Voting ends Sunday, August 25, and results will be announced in early September.
