As a proud board member of HHPLift I am excited to see them verified as a People and Planet First social enterprise! If you are a social entrepreneur looking for a verification process that is simple and affordable, builds the global movement of #socialenterprise, and offers additional benefits to verified enterprises (access to tools, resources, recognition and markets) - check it out! It is a verification system pioneered by the SEWF - Social Enterprise World Forum C.I.C. that helps objectively evaluate business impact and advocate for a more equitable way of doing business. You can reach out to Lauren Dekleva Haynes at Social Enterprise Alliance for more info.
Last week, we had the honor of hosting a remarkable event in collaboration with Purchasing with Purpose. Our doors opened to esteemed professionals representing social enterprises and allies, providing them with a unique opportunity to tour our facility in Chicago. As a People and Planet First verified enterprise, participants gained special insights into our production and fulfillment processes, our partnerships with workforce development organizations, and even had the chance to create their own candle. The highlight of the day was an enriching panel discussion, featuring distinguished leaders including our President and CEO, Dena Hirschberg. Their collective expertise shed light on navigating corporate and public sector social procurement and barriers of implementation. To each participant and contributor, we offer our heartfelt appreciation for making this event a resounding success. Let us continue to spark change and forge a brighter future together.
