In 2010 Snohomish County formed the Human Rights Commission to serve as educators, advocates, and advisors to the County Executive, County Council, and other county officers and agencies in matters concerning human rights. The commission is currently seeking candidates interested in serving a three-year term. The commission currently has immediate openings for a resident from District 4 (Brier, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace, and Bothell area) and an at-large position. The Center for Digital Government (CDG) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) announced Snohomish County Department of Information Technology as 2nd place winner in (500,000 – 999,999 population category) the 22nd Annual Digital Counties Survey. The survey, in partnership with NACo, identifies the best technology practices among U.S. counties, including initiatives that streamline the delivery of government services; provide data analytics to allow decisions based on performance and outcomes; enhance cybersecurity; and apply innovative and emerging technologies to county priorities. On June 26, 2024, in collaboration with Ziply Fiber, the Washington Department of Commerce, and Sno-Isle Libraries, Snohomish County is working to bring Broadband services to over 4,000 homes, businesses, and community institutions along SR-530. This project is funded through the state’s Infrastructure Acceleration Grant Program with federal American Rescue Plan Act services. “Broadband is a vital service for public safety, education, economic opportunity, and health. By expanding broadband access to over 4,000 homes, businesses, and community institutions along SR-530, we are making significant progress on our goal to increase access. The first opportunity is for an HR Consultant for the Compensation and Classification team. This position will be responsible for supporting our organization’s compensation structures and job classification systems. The Human Resources Consultant will also act as a subject matter expert for hiring officials within the county.
