It's safe to say we stand firmly behind trend-forecasting company WGSN's naming of curtains being a top trend in '24. We also wholeheartedly agree with one of the article's assertions that some people shy away from window treatments is because it can be a daunting purchase - if done on your own. But you don't have to weather the storm alone! Our incredible in-home designers are here to help guide you step-by-step through the process, and alleviate all of your cares and concerns. From offering expert design advise to accurately measuring, we've got your back. Interested in learning more? Click here to see if we cover your area today: https://lnkd.in/gdVz8CkH

Chances are, if you’ve ever submitted a resume for consideration with us, Mike Hefner has reviewed your details. Please join along as he takes us behind the scenes! What are some stand-out experiences or companies you look for in candidates for our In-home Design roles? "Tenure – not hopping around every 6-8 months. I also value sales experience, a passion to work with people, any outside sales companies (Closet design, Solar, Security), design experience and a drive to work on 100% commission. We also look for people who enjoy having their office be in the field and not at a desk." What’s a common oopsie you see on resumes? "Resumes that are not up-to-date (very common, especially on Indeed resumes). Also common are spelling errors and job experience not being in any discernible chronological order." What do you think makes us stand out to candidates from our competitors? "Our onboarding process is white glove. From start to finish, we communicate and create a no-pressure environment. Our training is very thorough, and our product is luxury." What do you most enjoy about your job? "I didn’t go to school for this, and I hadn’t imagined this as a career path (Criminal Justice was my original path). But, I really enjoy talking to new people and getting to help them by being a matchmaker for their careers. I’ve found that really fulfilling!" What do you wish candidates knew about the process that most don’t? "To be patient with the process of getting them up to speed and in-position. There is a substantial learning curve but we’re there to support and ensure their success." Any insider intel on your job? "It’s different every day. It can be just as hard for us not to move forward with a candidate as it is for them not to proceed in the process." Where’s your next trip to? "Disney World in April! Pending there’s not another pandemic..."

You’ve met some of our amazing support team. Now, we’re excited to introduce you to one of our sales' super-stars: Kelley Hoff! Join us as she shares some great insights about her experiences below. What’s the best part of your job?: "I love having repeat clientele. It’s so gratifying to be able to work with people for a 2nd and 3rd time!” What’s the most challenging aspect of your position? “Personally and professionally, I don’t like friction. Occasionally we’ll have a difficult install, and I don’t like when things don’t go smoothly. I do love that Smith & Noble empowers me to resolve the issue though and has an incredible team of support staff to back me up.” What excites you about your future with Smith & Noble? "I really like to challenge myself. Last year, I was #1 in my region for sales; so this year I have a million dollar goal I’ve got my sights set on!" Something she wished customers knew? "They may get a cheaper price, but sometimes they get what they pay for and don’t have the quality of product and extensive follow-up service that we provide afterwards.” Most important question of all….pineapple on pizza, yes or no? "No. Definitely not. But I could have chips and salsa every day.”
