Data Privacy Vault
About us
Skyflow is a data privacy vault, delivered as a simple and elegant API. Our founders wanted to radically transform how businesses handle their users’ financial, healthcare and other personal data — the data that powers the digital economy. Inspired by the data vaults that leaders like Apple and Netflix built to handle customer data, our vision was to deliver the same kind of data privacy vault as a simple and elegant API, something any developer could easily build into their application, the same way they use Stripe, Twilio, or Okta.

In this day and age, given the inevitability of needing to share personal information with businesses, a viable solution is required to improve how these businesses secure and govern data. 🔒 This is where SaaS solutions like Skyflow come into play. Founded in 2019 by Anshu Sharma and Prakash Khot, Skyflow is a data privacy vault built to simplify how companies isolate, protect, and govern their customers’ most sensitive data. Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, the company mainly offers a privacy-focused data storage solution for companies looking to securely implement LLMs to safeguard and manage sensitive customer information. Skyflow’s technology ensures that even in the event of a breach, its customers' personal information remains secure and inaccessible to unauthorised parties. Skyflow's core product is the data privacy vault, which securely stores sensitive information like personally identifiable information (PII), payment data, and health records. The vault uses advanced encryption techniques such as data tokenisation and masking, to protect data both during storage (at rest) and when being transferred (in transit). In terms of data privacy for LLMs: To address the risk of leaks, all training data passes through Skyflow’s ‘LLM Gateway for Privacy and Security’, where the sensitive data is identified and securely stored. It filters out plaintext-sensitive information to prevent it from entering LLMs during training. By encrypting and tokenising data, Skyflow significantly reduces the risk of data breaches. We are excited to partner with Indonesia's leading fintech, JULO. We recently spoke with Manoj Awasthi, Julo's CTO, about their approach to protecting PII data and why they chose Skyflow. Here are some highlights: 🔹 Indonesia is the fourth largest country in the world, and most people don't have access to credit. Julo aims to solve this problem. 🔹 Julo's core value is to do the right thing. They collect a lot of sensitive customer data and must keep it secure and private to maintain trust. 🔹 Many countries are enforcing privacy laws. Indonesia's PDP law can fine companies up to 2% of their annual revenue. India's new DPDP law has fines of 250 crores or $30M. 🔹 Protecting data and complying with these laws is essential and may require new strategies and infrastructure. Check the comments for the full conversation.

Big news reported by TechCircle! Skyflow is doubling down on our commitment to data protection in India! The enactment of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) law makes it critical for businesses to prioritize data security. Violations can result in hefty fines. On the back of new investment from Khosla Ventures and Dentsu Ventures, we're doubling our India team by the end of the year. This expansion will help us support businesses in navigating DPDP complexities. Read more about our growth and plans in the full article: https://lnkd.in/g8jZ2fCG

We are excited to announce the growth of our India operations! In response to the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) law, Indian businesses are focusing more on protecting personally identifiable information (PII). Skyflow’s PII data privacy vault ensures top-level security for customer data, including Aadhaar, using advanced encryption and a zero-trust approach. Our solution helps companies in BFSI, e-commerce, healthcare, and other sectors meet compliance and tackle AI-related governance and privacy risks. Our recent success and expansion wouldn’t be possible without the constant support of our incredible team and the confidence of our investors. As we continue to grow, Skyflow remains dedicated to leading in data privacy, helping organizations protect what matters most. To meet demand, we're expanding our India team to support businesses navigating DPDP complexities. Check out the comments for more details from CXOToday.

Many companies are now dealing with the mess created by the Evolve Bank data breach and this is just a few weeks after 150 companies were dealing with the breach of their Snowflake data. Many impacted companies often having incredible engineering talent, and buy and use the best security products. However, there's been more than 1B records stolen in 2024 and we're only halfway through the year. So why do we keep getting these data breaches that includes our SSNs, card numbers, DOBs, and so much more? Skyflow's CEO and Co-founder, Anshu Sharma, explains why our current approach to cybersecurity isn't working. We need to rethink how we build our data infrastructure - and what it even means to secure our customers’ data. Read more about his insights here: https://lnkd.in/gcSJJth9 #databreach #evolve #pii

New Activant research on Data Security out now: https://lnkd.in/gA-5uuRQ Big shout out to Anshu at Skyflow and Belsasar at Cerby for their insights. Some big takeaways after months looking at the space: We need an enterprise data security platform. 🔹Data is the fundamental building block of enterprise AI and security. 🔹Breaches have increased in frequency and cost because data sources are fragmented, data volumes are growing, and more people (and models) are demanding access to sensitive data. 🔹Many point solutions have emerged in the data security market, and most big companies have a litany of different dashboards and tools for niche use cases, not a holistic view of their data security, let alone an ability to improve it. 🔹We need a unified solution, a data security platform, to address the issues of distributed data and provide the nuanced access controls modern companies need. The data security platform of the future will have… 🔹Data discovery & classification that tells companies 1) where their data resides, 2) what type of data it is, and 3) what is sensitive and requires protection. This includes the ability to discover and classify structured as well as unstructured data types anywhere within the data pipeline. 🔹Encryption that meets regulatory requirements and protects sensitive information in the event of a breach. 🔹Access controls and inside threat detection with visibility and alerting tools to know who is accessing what information and when unauthorized access occurs. Today, 75% of insider incidents are non-malicious due to employee error or negligence as well as exploitation by external bad actors. 🔹Back up recovery and management so that if all else fails, a company can restore their data. Reach out to Jonathan, Nina, and I if you’re keen to chat data security. #data #ai #security

The scope of healthcare data breaches is growing exponentially over the last few years and modern engineering architectures are struggling to keep up. Instead of relying on traditional cybersecurity detection tools, it's time to rethink the way you secure your patient data and their PII. Join Harini Gopalakrishnan , Field CTO of HCLS at Snowflake, and Sean Falconer, Head of Marketing at Skyflow, tomorrow morning to discuss how to tackle the challenges of safeguarding sensitive patient data.
