About us
Siemens Energy is one of the world’s leading energy technology companies. The company works with its customers and partners on energy systems for the future, thus supporting the transition to a more sustainable world. With its portfolio of products, solutions and services, Siemens Energy covers almost the entire energy value chain – from power generation and transmission to storage. The portfolio includes conventional and renewable energy technology, such as gas and steam turbines, hybrid power plants operated with hydrogen, and power generators and transformers. A majority stake in the wind power subsidiary Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) makes Siemens Energy a global market leader for renewable energies. An estimated one-sixth of the electricity generated worldwide is based on technologies from Siemens Energy. Siemens Energy employs 99,000 people worldwide in more than 90 countries and generated revenue of around €31 billion in fiscal year 2023. Siemens Energy is a trademark licensed by Siemens AG

The first multi-terminal HVDC hub in northern Germany marks a significant milestone in our collaborative effort to innovate the power grid of tomorrow. By joining forces with 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, Amprion GmbH, TenneT TSO GmbH, and TransnetBW GmbH, we are pioneering the development of direct current (DC) switching stations for multi-terminal HVDC systems. This advanced HVDC technology will allow for the efficient transmission of energy over long distances with reduced losses and at the same time establish a grid network instead of a point-to-point connection. This is not only a technological breakthrough, but also a big leap towards realizing the future power grid of Europe.

Accelerating the energy transition in Berlin! Our new vacuum interrupter factory, where we are manufacturing climate-friendly switchgear products, is a clear commitment to climate-neutral power transmission and an important step towards net zero! With this €60 million investment, we are using industrially purified air for insulation and vacuum as the switching medium, instead of climate-damaging fluorinated gases (F-gases). This supports the EU F-gas Regulation which was designed to significantly reduce the use of F-gases and mitigate their impact on the environment. 💚

We love to celebrate the accomplishments of women in engineering like Maria, who are inspiring future female engineers, especially on International Women in Engineering Day. But we also recognize that work that still needs to be done to achieve a more inclusive and diverse engineering industry. So let’s continue to challenge stereotypes and encourage more girls and women to pursue careers in engineering. #INWED #inclusion #diversity

A day will come when we can stop talking about inclusion and diversity. 🏳️🌈 But today is not that day, and we are not there yet. It is essential for us to have a safe environment that allows people to bring their best self to work, so that they can be at their most effective, their most creative and their most energetic. We are working hard to make that happen for everyone.

The path to a climate-friendly energy system also includes greater efficiency, which is why we are constantly working to generate more energy from the same amount of resources. And from time to time we set landmarks along the way: SSE Thermal's Keadby Unit 2 Power Station now holds the Guinness World Records title for most efficient combined cycle power station at 64.18%!
