**Results are in!** I just completed my National Comfort Institute AirMaxx Duct Test with the The Energy Conservatory TrueFlow Grid. I ran it with the new measureQuick Quick Test Workflow which made the entire process take about 10 minutes. To measure return air temp, I always use my trusty JB Industries Climate Class Psychrometer with onboard display. Now to recap, my system was installed 21 years ago. It is a variable speed Lennox AHU in the attic with a single stage 3.5 ton AC. I only have a central return with a 20x24 Filter Grille and 1" Filter. Up in my attic, the return duct is mostly a full box of 18" flex duct (to keep it quiet they said) running to a return box at the end of the AHU. The Supply is a box plenum which disperses all of the supply runs for the house. Needless to say, I am not surprised by the results. Although, without going through this process, I truly wouldn't have the proper understanding on how my #HVAC system is performing. It provides cooling every season, with rH% ~ 48-50% most of the season and keeps up with temperature set point. Now, my house is only 2,000 sq ft, so I am slightly oversized, but my Return is clearly the culprit here.
