I help organizations to unlock the power of SharePoint

About us

I help all sizes of organizations to unlock the power of SharePoint. If your business or non-profit just purchased SharePoint (Microsoft 365) or recently migrated to SharePoint and your information management still feels disorganized, then you need special expertise – SharePoint expertise – to unlock the power of the platform. I have extensive experience customizing and configuring, implementing, migrating documents and data, and ‘cleaning up’ SharePoint sites. SharePoint Maven’s Services: ✔ SharePoint Site Configuration and Customization ✔ Document Migration to SharePoint ✔ SharePoint Implementation Strategy ✔ SharePoint Training ✔ SharePoint User Adoption ✔ SharePoint Governance ✔ SharePoint Project Management As a Microsoft SharePoint consultant with over 10 years of experience in the field, I’m intimately familiar with the challenges that come with learning — and effectively using — Microsoft SharePoint to streamline and organize your business’ operations. With each year comes new features, and with each new feature comes more information, compliance requirements, and even best practices to navigate! Having a friendly, knowledgeable SharePoint consultant to guide you through the ins and outs of it all can make a world of difference. That’s where I come in! I love working with businesses as they figure out how to use SharePoint to their best advantage. I bring a lighthearted-yet-strategic approach to consulting, in the hopes that SharePoint will become a stress-free, powerful tool. See more here: https://sharepointmaven.com/sharepoint-consulting/

Every time you set up a Label Retention Policy, you must specify what will happen at the end of the retention period. You can end the retention, delete the labeled content, or 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹. However, you can also involve your compliance/regulatory officers or knowledge managers to manually review the labeled content and make the proper decision via the built-in feature of 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄. So, in this article, I would like to explain how to set up a Disposition review for content under Retention in SharePoint Online: https://lnkd.in/gkC55rVv #SharePoint #Microsoft365

In most of my previous articles about Retention labels and policies, the assumption was that users would ultimately decide on the retention of a specific document based on some of its characteristics (document type, purpose, etc.). While we have some means to apply retention to the 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, there is also a way to 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼-𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. So, in this article, I would like to explain how you can take advantage of existing metadata tags and apply retention and records labels to documents tagged with specific values: https://lnkd.in/gpbG57Tz #SharePoint #Microsoft365

With the transition of 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, we now have endless possibilities for organizing and presenting videos to the site visitors. One of the recent additions to the New Stream functionality is the ability to create a 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁. So, what I thought I would do today is explain this functionality to you: https://lnkd.in/geUrixTw #SharePoint #Microsoft365

This has to be one of the critical decisions you will make when creating new sites in SharePoint. Whenever you create a new site, you get two choices: 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲. So what are those choices, and what are the implications of choosing one over the other? I already answered those questions on my blog in some of my older articles, but today, I would like to summarize those arguments in a single post: https://lnkd.in/gw6krcGt #SharePoint #Microsoft365

I want to introduce you to something rather technical but important to understand. What I am talking about is the 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘀 feature available within 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮 (𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝘇𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆). I specifically want to mention Admin Units because they play an essential role in Microsoft Purview when setting up 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀. Now, I want to clarify that this will not be a technical or thorough article about Admin Units and how to set them up. My expertise is in SharePoint, not Microsoft Entra. 😎 Microsoft has published some fantastic guides about this feature, which I will reference in this post. However, you need to understand how it works and how it might help your organization. Let’s proceed: https://lnkd.in/g5djfuct #SharePoint #Microsoft365
