So ETH ETFs begin trading today. I raised the same question when BTC ETFs were launched - ETFs make sense for hard to hold and store commodities like gold and silver, but why buy the crypto ETF when you can hold the crypto outright safely, with the ability to trade it 24/7. 🚩 The same holds true for ETH but ETH ETFs also have an additional issue, the ETH held in an ETH ETF cannot be staked! (not an issue for BTC since BTC employs a proof of work consensus mechanism while ETH uses a proof of stake) 🚩 Asset managers conclude: "That means the ETFs will underperform holding and staking ETH by 3% plus slippage due to trading and management fees. I don’t see sophisticated investors buying this ETF." 🚀 ETH can be bought, sold AND staked directly on the sFOX platform and can be held in your own SAFE Custody account, an account regulated through the Wyoming Division of Banking for our Wyoming Trust Company.
