I’m so excited to announce Seven Starling's $10.9M Series A led by RH Capital, as we further advance Seven Starling’s mission to reduce the stigma around women’s mental health and ensure that every woman has access to the high quality mental health care she needs, when she needs it. 💜 As a new mom myself, Seven Starling’s mission is deeply personal. Today, 1 in 5 women experience a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder during the pregnancy and postpartum period, and over 75% of those diagnosed never get treated. In addition to all the typical challenges of accessing mental health care like long waitlists and affordability, new mothers are also balancing taking care of a newborn, disrupted sleep, feeding pressure, and enormous stigma surrounding their mental health. Most of all, women lack a tailored and accessible solution that *just gets it*. 🌟 We founded Seven Starling to be *that* safe, easy, and supportive place for women to seek and get help through every life stage. Since launching, we’ve treated thousands of patients with our specialized clinical model, with over 90% of patients seeing a clinically significant improvement in their symptoms upon completing the program. We’ve done this in partnership with over 1,000 OBGYNs who trust us as their go-to mental health referral partner for their patients. In parallel, we’ve stayed committed to making our services affordable through broad in-network coverage with health plans. I’m thrilled to share that we’ll also be expanding to Medicaid this coming year. 🕊 In my roles as mom and CEO, I am so proud of the Seven Starling team and my co-founders Sophia Richter and Julia A. In 2022, I welcomed my first child. I had support from my family, friends and care team, yet it was still a challenging period in my life and career. No one can prepare you for the unique experience your body and mind will go through. I was inspired to join Seven Starling because of the opportunity to impact an area of healthcare that I consider essential to the well-being of all individuals. The health of a mother/partner/daughter, in my opinion, is core to the success of the growing family unit. In addition to the mission, I was inspired by the small but mighty team here." Today is World Maternal Mental Health Day and also marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Month. There is a lot to celebrate—access to care is wider than ever and our society has come a long way in destigmatization. At Seven Starling, our mission is to close these gaps and ensure that more and more women are able to receive treatment. We know that caring for women during these transitional stages, times of great growth but also loss, is more than just a job. The best providers in this field help women feel more like themselves, which positively impacts the next generation to come. Here's to all the women doing the hard work and to all the doctors, nurses and therapists who have their back. We salute you!
