The ERO Enterprise continues to emphasize the importance of strong internal control programs to reduce reliability and security risk to the bulk power system. This week, SERC Reliability Corporation's Risk Awareness and Oversight Team welcomed North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC)'s Michaelson Buchanan and members of Entergy to discuss SERC's new Internal Control Assessment Program. This new program evaluates entity's holistic internal control program, as requested by the entities, to support the mitigation of reliability and security risk. As such, positive results, along with other performance considerations, can potentially yield reduced monitoring frequency and/or scope.
