The Self Regional Healthcare Food & Nutrition team was thrilled to coordinate with Greenwood County officials, Greenwood City officials and CPW to distribute EA Sween’s generous donation of 400 sandwiches and wraps destined for first responders, road clearing crews, linemen, and many others who are tirelessly working to help our community during ongoing hurricane relief efforts. Last week, we had the opportunity to connect with nearly 1,500 eighth graders at the Lakelands Career Showcase, held at Piedmont Technical College’s Greenwood Campus, to discuss the wide range of careers in healthcare. Pictured is Dr. Matt Logan, SRH President & CEO, demonstrating to his daughter Ann how to intubate a patient. Intubation involves inserting a tube through the mouth and into the airway. This lifesaving procedure, known as tracheal intubation, allows a trained clinician to place a specialized tube into the trachea (or windpipe) to help patients with breathing difficulties. Also pictured are Self Regional team members Doris Lee, Erin Baum, Angela Garrett, and Gregg Holtzclaw, along with Dr. Logan. Blaze the Phoenix, PTC’s new mascot, even made an appearance and might have a future in Respiratory Therapy!
