Investing in women not only generates more revenue, but it helps us in making positive impact to the environment and well-being of communities. Yet, many women business owners in South and Southeast Asia continue to face persistent barriers when accessing finance. Addressing this challenge, SecondMuse Capital, with the support of Visa Foundation , has a designed a new financial mechanism called the 'Revolving Fund'. It aims to deploy $18 million and support up to 75 companies over the next 10 years, providing both capital and technical assistance to gender-smart MSMEs in the region. In this article, our Programs Director, Laura Benns, shares how the fund continuously recycles capital and integrates the plastic credits marketplace as a key innovation in making the Revolving Fund self-sustaining or evergreen in nature. Learn more about how the Revolving Fund can create change here: https://hubs.ly/Q02HDG-H0 Don't forget to follow SecondMuse Capital for news on our latest innovative financial mechanisms. #Sustainability #ImpactInvesting

Every year, 400 million tonnes of plastic end up in landfills, incinerators, or our oceans. Major corporations have set ambitious goals to tackle this by ramping up on recycling efforts, but only a few are on track and some have ended up using more plastic overall. The real solutions lies in upstream efforts to reduce and substitute single-use plastics with alternatives. In our latest blog, Clémence Fournier-Talmant, Senior Manager for Business Development at SecondMuse, shares how the Upstream Lab is designed to support companies in South and Southeast Asia to implement large-scale reuse and refill models.
