🌟 Exciting Day at Diversity Employment Day! 🌟 Today, I had the incredible opportunity to represent San Diego Workforce Partnership and attend Diversity Employment Day at the Handlery Hotel in Hotel Circle. It was inspiring to meet and connect with numerous employers committed to fair chance hiring practices. I was particularly thrilled to see so many organizations eager to tap into the talent pool associated with Prison to Employment! It’s heartening to witness a growing recognition of the value and potential that diverse backgrounds bring to the workforce. It is equally exciting to develop new connections and partnerships within our beautiful community! Thank you to all the employers and organizers for creating a space where meaningful connections can flourish. Together, we can make a difference and empower individuals to achieve their career goals! #DiversityInTheWorkplace #FairChanceHiring #PrisonToEmployment #DiversityEmploymentDay #ReentryWorks #SDWP

This week, the TR team returned to San Diego for another in-person session with our California Employer Action Lab cohort! With Dr. Bronner's, Rancho Bernardo Inn, Scripps Health, and San Diego Humane Society now seven months into their 10-month Action Lab journey, it was exciting to witness the continued enthusiasm and dedication in the room. During this session, participants focused on getting their employee pilot programs ready to launch, explored effective project management tools, and presented their initiatives to a panel of frontline employees. As always, we are incredibly grateful to spend more time with our growing California Action Lab community! A special shout out to our frontline advisors Nashid Mateen, Karen Traveler, Lorein Walker, Kerry Roberts, Erica Sivels, Tommy Cooper, Raneigh Aguilera–who continue to provide invaluable insights. Also our regional partners San Diego Workforce Partnership, UNITE-LA and phenomenal Technical Assistance Providers Jasmin Sakai-Gonzalez, Amber Chatman, Idara O., Mimi Rosado, Bridget Netter, Amy Jaramillo, SHRM-SCP, SPHR and Maurice Williams. This month, we wrapped up our series of strategic planning community forums, a key step in shaping our Strategic Vision 2030 Plan. Over the course of a month, we hosted 14 public forums across San Diego County, along with six internal forums for staff. These sessions provided an opportunity to explore both challenges and opportunities in workforce development while gathering invaluable feedback from diverse voices on how we can work together to address the region’s workforce needs. A big thank you to everyone who participated and to our partners at New Ways To Work for helping make these forums a success! #WorkforceDevelopment #StrategicVision2030 #CommunityImpact #SanDiegoWorkforce #Collaboration #ThisIsWorkforce Tony Young
