Sports MBA Candidate '24 | Driving Innovation Through Sport

My favourite part of the SDSU Sports MBA program is the opportunities we have to undertake extracurricular consulting projects. I enjoy applying the knowledge we learn in the classroom to real-life scenarios that global sporting entities are facing. The most recent project that I have completed was an investigation into how the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center could integrate artificial intelligence into their sales, marketing and guest experience operations. Having taken a course on AI and its plethora of applications before starting the SMBA program, I was excited to apply my understanding to identify the most efficient, cost-effective and user-friendly ways that AI could be implemented. After two months of researching and developing solutions, we presented our findings at the Elite Athlete Training Center to Spencer Jamison, George Bauernfeind, and Trevor Higgins. We were delighted to share the insights we had gained with them, and would like to sincerely thank them for providing us with the project. On the same day, I also had the pleasure of being a guest speaker at the SDSU Women in Sports club’s meeting. I always love being able to share my experiences, what I have learned from them, and my sports industry insights with fellow aspiring sports business professionals. Thank you to Emma Lian and Isabella Kunde for inviting me!

    Aspiring Sports Business Professional

This semester, I had the privilege of being featured in a personal profile by Mollie Levy, a member of SDSU Women in Sports, who was tasked to write about someone who went to San Diego State University. I am honored to have been the subject of her profile and grateful for the recognition. Mollie is a rising star in the sports media industry and I am excited to see where her journey takes her. Thank you, Mollie, for choosing me and for your hard work in highlighting the achievements of myself and women in sports. #WomenInSports

In celebration of Women in Sports night, our club members attended a WISE San Diego panel hosted by the San Diego Gulls! Our members got to learn and hear from four inspiring women who continue to make their mark in the sports industry. In addition to the panel, our members had the opportunity to meet with different departments of the San Diego Gulls organization and discuss their roles! We are so lucky to have attended such an amazing event filled with incredible people. Thank you Haley Meyer and Gabriella Garcia for your hospitality and guidance throughout the evening!

With the semester wrapping up and as our club members prepare for the holiday break, we would like to highlight the amazing speakers that we had in October and November! Thank you to Michelle Weber Rawlins, Aly Clauson, Anja Koehler, and Delaney B.! Four amazing speakers from coast to coast that provided our members with so much insight and advice. We are so thankful and lucky to have such inspiring women to look up to! We had so much fun this semester getting to hear from all of our speakers, socializing with other clubs, and getting to know all of our members! We can’t wait to see what the next semester has in store for us!
