The Smart Border Coalition, Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, recently co-hosted a trade discussion with the CBP Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism Team(C-TPAT) on the rising threat of fentanyl in our regional supply chain. This presentation underscored the profound impact this substance is having on the #CaliBaja supply chain, leading to delays at our border crossings and affecting the flow of legitimate trade and travel. As stakeholders in this binational region, it is important to remain vigilant and well informed. Our cross-border workforce, local businesses, and our overall economic competitiveness are intertwined with the efficiency of our ports of entry. We are committed to working together with regional authorities, industry leaders, and our partners to address these challenges, advocate for stronger border technologies, and support initiatives that will enhance safety without sacrificing the efficiency of our vital cross-border flows. It was encouraging to see some of our local elected leaders represented in this meeting. #SmartBorderCoalition #SanDiegoRegionalChamber #OtayMesaChamber #CrossBorderTrade #SupplyChain #FentanylCrisis #BorderSecurity #CaliBaja #BinationalCollaboration
