We are delighted to announce not one, not two, not three, but FOUR previous Student CEOs have joined our HQ team in a full-time capacity. Please join us in welcoming this amazing group of Student CEO alumni. Gabriella Gecas, a graduate of Temple University, is the newest member of our Finance team in the role of Accountant I. Gabby has already started to make an impact by living out our value of Embrace Being O.D.D. by driving accurate and efficient reporting here at Saxbys. She will support the continued growth of the Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform with her attention to detail and her determination to understand Saxbys systems inside and out. Anthony Cruz, a graduate of Rowan University, and Anna Cuff, a graduate of Saint Joseph's University, will be joining the Product and Ops Implementation team as Leadership Training Specialists. Anthony is the epitome of our value Serve Yourself by Serving Others as he is always looking for ways to help out the team, as he demonstrated in assisting us with our grand opening cafes prior to coming on as an HQ team member. Anna has always been a Community Serving her Community working with Saxbys previously as a former Student CEO, Brand Ambassador, Trainer, and Academic Platforms Intern. Most recently she worked for Hershey as a Territory Sales Lead and we are very fortunate to bring her back to the team to support our upcoming grand openings and cafe operations teams. Anabel Gifoli, a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania, continued her impact of finding great talent for us as a Certified Recruiter at her cafe by coming on as a Campus Recruiter. She will now shift her efforts to finding future Student CEOs across multiple cafes. Anabel regularly shows what the value Live with Pride, Passion, and Purpose means, enthusiastically taking on challenges that further our mission, sharing the benefits of her experience with all who will listen, and continuously submitting an excellent work product. We can’t wait to show you more from this group as they Make Life Better.

Watch out, world! We have some new product developers in our midst. As a company focused on #experientiallearning for the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs, we decided there was no better way to celebrate this than by starting a tradition of an annual Bring a Kid to Work Day at our HQ office. As part of the day, we asked the kids to create a new product. We ended up with some interesting concoctions to say the least. We also had them market their product, play a speed of hospitality service game, and live out the Saxbys Core Value of "We are a Community Serving a Community" by completing a service project. It was so special to share our day-to-day work with the children in our lives. Let us know if you'd like to see any of these drinks on our menu 😉 .

Aspyn Shriver ‘27 will be the first ever student CEO of the brand new Saxbys opening this Fall at RMU! 🤩☕️ Aspyn, a rising sophomore finance student at RMU, just spent the week training at Saxbys’ headquarters in Philadelphia, PA with dozens of other student CEO’s from around the country. “Aspyn, by a wide margin, received the most recognition from her peers and Saxbys HQ. She was praised for her engagement in sessions, her curiosity, her hospitality and generosity towards the other CEOS, and overall outstanding attitude.” Aspyn is also working this summer as a sales intern with a Ensinger Inc., a plastics manufacturer in Washington, PA. Outside the classroom, she is a member of the RMU Concierge Team, Executive Board Member of Women in Business, Treasurer & Executive Committee member of Women’s Leadership and Mentorship Program, Honors Program, Delta Phi Epsilon, Outdoor Adventure Club, and PRSSA. #Unstoppable

We're proud to announce that Saxbys has been named one of Greater Philadelphia's 50 most community-minded employers by The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia and Points of Light as part of the Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia! 2024 marks the second year in a row that Saxbys has been named a Civic 50 honoree. Among the Greater Philadelphia companies who completed the Civic 50 assessment, Saxbys earned the region’s top score for Integration. The Integration dimension measures how a company “does well by doing good” through engagement programs that support both the profitability of the business and the wellbeing of the communities it serves. Our Founder & CEO Nick Bayer captured the significance of this recognition of our team: “Saxbys is an education company – disguised as a coffee company – on a mission to Make Life Better by supporting and empowering the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs. That commitment is central to everything we do not just here in Philadelphia but in our Experiential Learning cafes across the country as well. We’re deeply proud of this recognition from the Chamber of Commerce, particularly with the recognition of how purposefully our social impact is woven into all aspects of our business.” Read more on our website: https://lnkd.in/e8_FfuJ2 #Civic50PHL

🎉 Please join us in congratulating the Fall 2024 cohort of Saxbys Student CEOs on completing Student CEO Camp! 🎉 Last week, 21 Saxbys student leaders visited our headquarters in Philadelphia to complete three days of intensive workshops with our corporate team. This in-person training served as a the capstone to approximately 25 hours of online, interactive, asynchronous learning modules. Student CEO Camp focuses on grounding our student leaders in our three Institutional Learning Outcomes, or the Saxbys Three Pillars: Team Development, Community Leadership, and Financial Management. Our online coursework and in-person workshops prepare Student CEOs to successfully own key tasks in each of these three areas from day one of cafe operations. This foundation empowers Student CEOs to hit the ground running, experiment with new ideas to engage their cafe teams and campus communities, and focus on personal and professional growth throughout their terms. The outcome of close collaboration between our Experiential Learning & Impact Team and our Production & Operations Implementation Team, this year marks the debut of our hybrid approach to Student CEO Camp. We can't wait to continue to coach this cohort to success throughout their terms! Stay tuned for updates: we'll profile each our Student CEOs throughout the month of August, and share highlights from their cafes throughout the fall. SVP of Marking / Certified Recruiter at Saxbys Guest Service Agent at the Drury Inn and Suites

I am so honored to have been named both the Hospitality and Tourism Management Sophomore of the Year and the Outstanding Sophomore in the JW Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management! I was fortunate enough to be nominated by the amazing faculty and staff at Purdue University! I am very grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to me at Purdue University, my work with Saxbys being one of them! These awards just show further proof how well the faculty and staff in the JW Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management appreciate their students and prepare us to take on the world after our work at Purdue is done! I want to say congrats to all the other students who received awards last night. It was so amazing to join the rest of my outstanding peers to celebrate each other and our accomplishments from this past school year. I still have a couple years at Purdue left, and I can’t wait to see what else I can do with my time at the university that I love! #BoilerUp!

Recent graduate with a B.S. in Pharmaceutical Product Development

As my time at West Chester University is coming to a close, I would like to reflect on a very important part of my undergraduate experience: working at Saxbys. As a Team Lead and a Certified Trainer, I have gained valuable leadership experience. I have learned to embody the Saxbys mission of serving yourself by serving others, and I plan on taking the lessons of servant leadership I have learned into my future career. Being able to interact with the WCU community at Saxbys has brought me many memories and has provided me with many interpersonal connections I will cherish forever. I would like to thank Maya Clarke, Paige Bogda, Tre Howard, Anabel Gifoli, Jacob Nuss, and Arbor Lloyd for being the best S.C.E.Os and incredible leaders that have been with me throughout my time at Saxbys. I would also like to thank Kayla Higgins for assisting me in my journey to become a Certified Trainer.

Educator, Marketer, People Developer, Collector, and Lifelong Learner all with a dose of the Mamba Mentality

This week I am sharing the work students have done in my classes over the last semester. When I started teaching at Rowan University, I noticed that Saxbys was at the center of their Business Hall. Having some ties to Saxbys and knowing they prioritize experiential learning, I wanted to integrate their brand into my courses. This semester, Natalie Langhorne was able to present to my class about a marketing task the students would accomplish as their final exam. This marketing assignment was centered on driving people to a product or item. The prompt was to drive students to Saxbys to purchase their new Cold Foam. It has been fun to see how students organize their campaign concepts around their goals and target audiences. The element of establishing a marketing strategy to yield measurable results has been an outcome this class (and specifically this assignment) has provided these students as they enter their marketing careers. Every campus has brands and organizations that can use the Gen Z perspective. In many cases, many of these companies want to reach this audience so why not let the students provide some conceptual strategies for the professionals? It's free work, and it's portfolio content.
