San Mateo PAL

San Mateo PAL is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 1997 in collaboration with the San Mateo Police Department, and the San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department to keep our kids on track, in school and away from negative and troubling behaviors. San Mateo PAL remains steadfast in its mission building a stronger community while "Building the Bond Between Cops and Kids," ensuring kids stay safe, in school and away from troubling behaviors. We build relationships between police professionals and young people and provide opportunities to help them navigate adverse life circumstances, mental health issues, and at-risk behaviors. Since 1997, San Mateo PAL has provided youth development activities and programs, at little to no cost, to thousands of local children and their families. Our focuses include life and leadership skills, sports recreation, prevention and intervention programs, enrichment activities, education support, and essential services. Our programming is delivered year-round, including after school, on weekends, during school breaks, and over the summer months. San Mateo PAL is devoted to supporting at-risk and underserved children and families with activities to improve their physical health and socio-emotional well-being and prevent them from engaging in or continuing to engage in unhealthy or risky behaviors.
