  • Our latest swearing-in ceremony marked a historic occasion as we welcomed our largest group of new employees yet! Amidst the presence of family, friends and colleagues, Sheriff Christina Corpus officially swore in an impressive and diverse group of 20 new deputies and correctional officers, and celebrated the promotions of 9 professional staff members. In their new roles, Sheriff Corpus inspired the group to lead with confidence, to serve our community with unwavering dedication, and to strive to earn and maintain the trust and respect of our community every day. At the ceremony, Sheriff Corpus also presented the Community Member Service Award to a citizen who diligently identified the suspect of a crime. We welcome these new team members to the Sheriff’s Office and we look forward to all they will accomplish while serving our community!

  • Promotions are an exciting time at the Sheriff’s Office as we celebrate the achievements of our own and support them as they embark on the next chapter in their careers. Last week, Sheriff Christina Corpus, fellow Sheriff’s Office colleagues, friends and family, celebrated the official swearing in of this group of emerging leaders, role models, and mentors who will help shape the future of the Office. Congratulations to Lieutenant Aquino, Sergeant Chiu, Sergeant Hathaway, Sergeant Miqueo, Sergeant Tashiro and Sergeant Zapata! We can’t wait to see all you will accomplish.

  • We’re proud to recognize two of our outstanding professional staff members, Jennifer Prado and Nicole Mejia, who graduated last week from the Chamber San Mateo County Leadership Program! The 10-month leadership program is a premier academy that welcomes leaders at all levels and in all organizations in San Mateo County and equips them with the knowledge, tools and opportunities to evolve their skills to the next level in leadership and service.   • Congratulations to our newest Deputy Sheriff, Osvaldo Flores Hernandez, on successfully completing the Alameda County Sheriff's Office 179th Academy! Earlier this week, Sheriff Christina Corpus warmly welcomed Deputy Hernandez to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office team as he took the stage for graduation. We are incredibly proud of Deputy Hernandez and look forward to all he will accomplish while serving as a guardian for San Mateo County.

  • Congratulations are in order for our two newest Correctional Officers! Following three months of training, Correctional Officer Cornett and Correctional Officer Hernandez officially graduated last week from the Santa Clara County Correctional Officer Academy. Sheriff Christina Corpus and members of the Executive Team attended the ceremony and celebrated as Correctional Officer Cornett, who also served as Class President, was recognized with an inspiration award. We are proud of how they represented San Mateo County and we know they will serve with compassion, dignity, and respect in our correctional facilities.

Yesterday, Sheriff Corpus and the Executive Team attended the graduation ceremony to personally congratulate and welcome Deputy Pillay and Deputy Gutierrez to the team.
