About us
The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of two main Divisions – the San Francisco Health Network and Population Health. The San Francisco Health Network is the City's only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers. With a broad community focus, the ultimate goal of the Population Health Division is to ensure that San Franciscans have optimal health and wellness at every stage of life, and, to achieve this, the Division is comprised of various branches dedicated to core public health services for the City and County of San Francisco, such as health protection and promotion, disease and injury prevention, disaster preparedness and response, and environmental health services.

#SFDPH honored the diverse cultural backgrounds of the Latine/x community today at “Celebrating our Roots/Celebrando Nuestras Raíces,” an event held at Potrero del Sol/La Raza Park. The Latine/x Heritage Month celebration featured a dance group, a traditional Mesoamerican blessing, and remarks from keynote speaker Gloria Romero, executive director at Instituto Familiar de la Raza . #SFDPH continues to advance health equity by addressing systemic and institutional barriers such as language access, culturally responsive care and health care access.

Last night, we joined Mothers Against Drug Addiction & Deaths in mourning lives senselessly lost to overdose. As long as someone has breath in their body, they can recover from opioid addiction. Treatment is effective and available. #EndOverdoseSF #IOAD2024

Come work with us! The San Francisco Department of Public Health is hiring within the Contracts Administration team! There are two different roles (a 1823- Senior Administrative Analyst & also a 1824-Principal Contract Administrative Analyst-1824). It is phenomenal experience to join a centralized department supporting the entire SFDPH and to engage with colleagues immersed in the wide range of good work done by DPH. It positions you well to build solid skills, develop relationships across the entire City and shows you how pieces fit together to make the department work. If you thrive in a fast paced, mission driven organization, and enjoy process improvement - this is for you! - 1823 Senior Administrative Analyst (Contracts Administration) - https://lnkd.in/g74K5q4N - 1824 Principal Contract Administrative Analyst - https://lnkd.in/g96RwCkP

San Francisco Department of Public Health was thrilled to be recognized last night at Monday Night Football by the San Francisco 49ers for Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center's care of 49er Ricky Pearsall. Every year, Zuckerberg San Francisco General serves more than 100,000 people and is the only Level 1 Trauma Center serving #SF & northern San Mateo County. It is the hub of the city’s disaster response in an earthquake or major crisis and is consistently recognized for excellent care. Congratulations to our Trauma Team, Emergency Department, Dr. Lucy Kornblith and everyone at ZSFG for this honor. #TraumaCare #ZSFG #49ers #49ersfaithful #NinerGang
