We are so proud to support the important work that Camden Coalition does.

Camden Coalition’s housing-first pilot has been running for almost a decade! Once the crisis of mortality in homelessness is averted, our teams are then able to work on the dignity of life-enhancing care every one deserves. Put simply, that’s adressing overall goals of care, advance directives, and overall quality of life. For people with complex health and social needs, those are BIG DEALS. Congratulations to Global Partners in Care for 25 years of such impactful work! We are proud to be a partner working with our sister hospice Kawempe Home Care in Kampala, Uganda. Thank you for forging bonds to expand care globally.

Global Partners in Care is happy to share that in 2024 we are celebrating 25 years of enhancing access to palliative care across the globe through partnerships, research and education, and working with collaborative partners! From our beginnings as the Foundation for Hospices in Sub-Saharan Africa to now – with the help of our partners, collaborators, interns and supporters – we have helped millions of people access palliative care. https://lnkd.in/gUuYZXMf

Seventy-two years of marriage! An amazing milestone that Samaritan’s care team could not let pass without helping their patient celebrate. With Lacy and Dorothy Steele’s anniversary coming, the team decided to surprise them with a beautiful ceremony. The décor, anniversary card, balloons, and a cookie cake were all wonderful. The cherry on top was hearing Lacy and Dorothy speak of their beautiful years together. Their first meeting, their wedding, and all the anniversaries that had come before. “The team received heartfelt appreciation,” says Marian, Samaritan Spiritual Support Counselor who celebrated with the Steele’s. The day was a special celebration to add to a beautiful lifetime of anniversary memories.

We extend our condolences to Dr. Harper's family, friends, and to all her colleagues who were fortunate to work with her. We are eternally grateful for her dedication and contributions to providing and expanding access to compassionate #hospice and #palliativecare on a global level.

Our sadness at the loss of Dr. Bernice Catherine Harper is tempered by our overwhelming gratitude for her immeasurable contributions to #hospice and #palliativecare throughout the world. She was instrumental in the development of the Foundation for Hospices in Sub-Saharan Africa (FHSSA), the precursor organization to Global Partners in Care. Her ongoing engagement over the years provided guidance and wise counsel for our work. Dr. Harper was not only a driving force who had a profound impact on the organization and the many lives we’ve touched – she was a close friend, confidant and advisor who will be greatly missed and forever appreciated. We published a tribute article about Dr. Harper in 2022 on the eve of her 100th birthday. She worked closely with us to create it and was delighted to share more of her life story. We hope it serves as a reminder of her many achievements for those who knew her, an introduction for those who didn’t and an inspiration for all. She emanated faith, #compassion and a conviction that we must care for one another. Please read more about this amazing woman: https://lnkd.in/dqfQk3su
