The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce – Education Committee Network (SACC-EN) and the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES) are proud to present Education is Everybody’s Business: Apprenticeships on the Delmarva Peninsula. Education is Everybody’s Business is a Public Access Channel PAC 14 show currently available globally on YouTube. Maryland has a severe workforce shortage, with only 40 workers for every 100 open jobs. This is partly due to a lack of properly trained candidates, and trade workers are nearing retirement. One proposed solution is the development of formal and nontraditional apprenticeships in trades, ranging from metal fabric manufacturing and plumbing to healthcare and hotel/restaurant management. In this episode, our esteemed show host, Dr. Ladd Colston, CEO of Sustainable-Visions, LLC, engages in insightful conversations with three exceptional Eastern Shore-based business leaders. Join Dr. Colston as he introduces us to Tom Powley, President & CEO of GKD USA, Inc.; @Steve McGee, President of Chesapeake Shipbuilding; and Ben Sidell, President and CEO of Real Hospitality Group. Each provides valuable insights into their industries, future growth, and the role of apprenticeships and career trade training in workforce development. https://lnkd.in/eqrU9ZDG
