The client challenged the design team--led by HKS, Inc.--to create high-efficiency environments for the optimal patient experience. Working closely with University of Connecticut's Planning, Design, and Construction Department and the Athletics Department, Salas O’Brien provided engineering design to replace outdated facilities with new stadia for the University’s Division I soccer, baseball, and softball programs. Upgrades to the stadia and related facilities on the Storrs Campus include baseball (J.O. Christian Field), softball (Burrill Field), soccer (Joseph J. Morrone Stadium), soccer practice field, proposed maintenance building, and the Freitas Ice Forum. We developed infrastructure improvements as part of the Southwest Campus Infrastructure Project.
