  • Sydney, Luis Ramos's youngest daughter and colleague at Saint Peter’s Family Health Center, was selected as the May Star of the Month—an honor bestowed on just one of Saint Peter’s Healthcare System’s 3,000-plus employees. Luis said it made him even happier than when he was named Star of the Month for April. “From the perspective of a father, you just want your kids to do well,” he said. “You want them to be safe. So, it’s just nice that she got acknowledged for it, and I feel very proud of her because she’s standing on her own two feet.”

  • Please join us in congratulating DAISY Award Honoree Emily Su, BSN, RN, MEDSURG-BC, a registered nurse in Saint Peter’s University Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit! This award honors exceptional nurses and nursing staff for their hard work, dedication, and the difference they make in their patients’ lives daily. “Emily provided extraordinary care for our pre-term baby, so we requested her to be his primary nurse while in the NICU. Being first-time parents and surprised with our baby arriving six weeks earlier than expected, my husband and I were anxious and had much to learn about caring for our precious and tiny son. Emily was so patient with us, demonstrating and teaching us how to feed, burp, change diapers, and more. She had the idea of keeping a picture of me and my husband at the top of our son’s isolette so that he might begin to get to know us better and feel our company even when we couldn’t be present in the NICU. Before he left the NICU, she made us a sweet placard with his footprints and his name. From the very start, she thought of so many details for our baby. Emily Su is the whole package—smart, professional, empathetic, kind, and supportive. She most certainly contributed to our very positive experience during our son’s first few weeks in the world." Thank you, Emily, for the kindness and compassion you bring to work every day. To nominate a Saint Peter's nurse for the DAISY Award, please click the link: https://bit.ly/3OzlwLh

  • Did you know that Saint Peter's was the first hospital in the area to offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) services? Wound healing is complicated, and one of the most important factors in determining how well a wound heals is adequate blood supply to the wounded area. If a wound does not heal within 30 days, hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help speed up the healing process of certain complex chronic wounds. Wound Care Center® and Hyperbaric Services treatment facilities are located in New Brunswick at the Saint Peter’s Center for Ambulatory Resources (CARES) and in Monroe Township in the same building as Saint Peter’s Physician Associates (SPPA).
