Please join us in celebrating our June STAR of the Month Sydney Ramos, a counselor in the For KEEPS Program at Saint Peter's Family Health Center! Sydney's colleagues noted that “Sydney should be recognized for her dedication to providing a safe and fun environment for vulnerable children undergoing psychological treatments. She routinely purchases arts and crafts material out of her own pocket to provide for the children in the program. During Halloween, she decorated the whole department with a Nightmare Before Christmas theme and made spooky houses out of cardboard boxes so the children could trick or treat in the unit. Her ability to interact with children of multiple age groups and provide counseling services while keeping the children engaged is outstanding. In one counseling session, she was able to provide a safe environment for a child, which allowed this child to open up during a group discussion about past traumas. Sydney truly exhibits the mission of the hospital by providing the best care to the children of Saint Peter’s University Hospital.” Sydney's compassion and kindness can brighten up any room, and we are lucky to have her on our team!
