About us

Saint Francis Healthcare System is guided by our mission to provide a ministry of healing, wellness, quality and love inspired by our faith in Jesus Christ. Through this mission, Saint Francis Healthcare System serves nearly 713,000 people across Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas, focusing on our patients' outcomes, experience and value. Founded by Franciscan Sisters in 1875, Saint Francis has continued to offer compassionate care and innovative medical treatments to those in need. The times may have changed, but our priority remains the same: serve all who enter with dignity, compassion and joy. Anchored by Saint Francis Medical Center, a 306-bed tertiary hospital, our nationally-recognized service lines include the Cancer Institute, Emergency and Level III Trauma Center, Family BirthPlace and the region's first Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Heart Hospital, Neurosciences and Orthopedics. With nearly 2,800 employees and more than 250 providers in eight different communities, the Healthcare System is a driving economic force in the region.

  • Welcome, Shaina Cooper, FNP-C! We are excited to welcome Cooper to the team at Cape Neurology Specialists. A Southeast Missouri native with a passion for neurology and four years of experience in the field, she began her journey at Saint Francis at 18 and has worked in various roles, building valuable connections along the way. When she is not caring for patients, she coaches cheerleading at Thomas W. Kelly High School and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and her two corgis, Tater and Piper. Fun fact: She used to compete in barrel racing and hopes to return to it someday. Cooper is now accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment, call 573-332-1972.

  • 🎉🚀 Celebrating a Milestone: Our 100th Ion endoluminal procedure! We are excited to announce that Cape Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine has successfully completed their 100th procedure using the groundbreaking Ion endoluminal system! This remarkable achievement underscores our dedication to providing the most advanced and precise lung care to our patients. The Ion system has truly revolutionized our approach to diagnosing and treating lung conditions. With Ion's ability to navigate to difficult-to-reach areas of the lung, providers can better diagnose lung cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage. We could not be prouder of our team's efforts. The project was made possible through a $22,000 grant presented by local McDonald's Owner Andi Hilburn-Vaini to the Saint Francis Foundation from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tri-State. Additional support was provided by Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and the Sikeston Jaycees. "These families must often leave the comforts of home for weeks to stay near their child, and we're excited to be able to provide them with a home away from home to take a nap, do laundry, connect a laptop, get a snack or coffee, or just take a break in a calm environment during such a stressful time," said Foundation Executive Director, Stacy Huff.
