This year’s theme is “It’s time for action.” Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eN-nzTjP Since 2021, RWJBarnabas Health partner hospitals, including Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and Jersey City Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital of Rahway and Somerset together have conducted 220,000 HCV and 96,700 HBV screenings with 1,388 HCV and 756 HBV positive patients identified. • When a child developed a serious urological condition, RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group providers teamed up to find the best treatment, including pediatric urologist Haris S. Ahmed, MD, and pediatric nephrologist M. Isabel Roberti, MD, PhD. Through a pregnancy ultrasound, parents Petro and Halyna Savanchuk learned that their daughter, Stephanie, had a dilated urinary tract system, a common urological problem that could be secondary to various conditions. After her birth, Stephanie had an abnormal backflow of urine from the bladder up one or both of the ureters- the tubes that connect the kidneys to the bladder. When Stephanie turned 18 months, she underwent a successful robotic procedure to reposition her ureter to prevent urine from backing up during urination and entering the kidney. Read Stephanie’s full story on page 6 of RWJBarnabas Health’s Healthy Together magazine: https://lnkd.in/e-4sNH5P Dr. Ahmed is the Co-Chief of the Robotic Surgery Program at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital (BMSCH) at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
