We welcomed over 50 neighbors and families from North Central and Milo-Grogan to our Neighbor Night at the new Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center! ♻️ It was an evening of celebration, tours of our state-of-the-art facility and tasty treats in our reception area. President Andrew Rumpke shared some inspiring words and we had a special ribbon-cutting ceremony with our amazing Community Advisory Committee members. Their support made this dream a reality! Our Recycling Process series continues with Steps 7 and 8 at Rumpke’s Material Recovery Facilities! ♻️🌍 Step 7: Paper travels over rotating discs while containers fall through openings. Step 8: A beam of near-infrared light projects onto the conveyor, identifying specific items. A computer then triggers a blast of air to divert these items onto another conveyor. Our Recycling Process series continues with Steps 5 and 6 at Rumpke’s Material Recovery Facilities! 🌍♻️ Step 5: We begin the process of separating paper from containers. Step 6: Glass bottles and jars are broken, and the pieces fall through openings onto a separate belt, ready to be transported to Rumpke’s Dayton glass plant. 🌱 The Rumpke Brown County Landfill hosted Green Camp, a fun three-day adventure for kids! Our Green Camp explored the landfill, searched for fossils, learned about the Adams-Brown Recycling Center and discovered wildlife in White Oak Creek. Highlights included making edible landfills, crafting seed bombs from recycled paper and a fascinating fish shocking demo by the Ohio Division of Wildlife. We're thrilled to have provided this opportunity to teach the importance of sustainability and conservation! #GreenCamp #Sustainability #CleanAndGreen

On July 13, Rumpke hosted a Family Day event at the new Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center! Over 200 Rumpke employees, with their families and friends, came out to check out the new building. The tour highlighted our state-of-the-art recycling center, education floor, green roof patio, cafe and research and development spaces—all featuring art made from sustainable materials! Guests could also snag some Rumpke merch at the official Rumpke Gift Shop, which will be open for future tour groups who want a keepsake from their visit to the largest recycling facility in North America! ♻️ #TheRecyclingLeader #TeamRumpke

They turned a routine trash pick-up into an unforgettable experience for two young fans in Mt. Sterling, KY.
