RTS is being awarded more than $18 M in grant funds to purchase 3 new hydrogen fuel cell buses and to make needed upgrades to existing facilities. 

The driving skills of the best bus operators, small vehicle operators, and maintenance technicians in New York State were on display Saturday, June 8, at the 2024 RTS Bus Roadeo. Thirty-three competitors from six RTS operations showed their skill behind the wheel by tackling a difficult course at Monroe Community College.

Celebrating all the dads out there - RTS wishes you a joyful Father's Day!

The City of Rochester kicked off Juneteenth celebrations today with a block party at City Hall. RTS was happy to add its Juneteenth decorated bus to the celebrations! Pictured is Mayor Malik Evans with RTS Chief Customer and Community Experience Officer Corinda Reaves. The Juneteenth bus will be on the road through the month of June.

The Zero Emission Bus Resource Alliance – also known as ZEBRA – met here in Rochester on June 11 and 12, for a roundtable event on pivoting to hydrogen fuel cell technology. ZEBRA is a professional organization of 74 transit agencies in the United States and Canada that share lessons learned about zero-emission buses. 

I was happy to welcome to Rochester this morning transit industry colleagues from across the country to discuss our collective zero-emission efforts and our pivot to hydrogen fuel cell technology. Thank you to the Zero Emission Bus Resource Alliance (ZEBRA) and its members for bringing its roundtable series to Rochester. This level of collaboration and sharing of information on such an important issue is critical to our success. And special thanks to Amanda Santacroce from the office of NYS Senator Jeremy Cooney for joining us! #zebragrp
