This weekend we had the honor of participating in The JXN Project’s groundbreaking ceremony for the Skipwith-Roper Cottage and JXN Haus as part of The Skipwith-Roper Homecoming. We're grateful to be part of the plans to recreate the cottage and share Abraham Peyton Skipwith's important legacy as the first known Black homeowner in Jackson Ward. We can't wait to engage the community through our volunteer program, so get ready to pick up a power tool and join us!

About us
As a proud affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity has been putting faith into actions in our community since 1986, partnering with local families and individuals to build more than 390 homes in the City of Richmond, Henrico County, and Chesterfield County. At our core, Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call their home. We believe affordable housing plays a role that is critical in building strong and stable communities. By coordinating and working with dedicated volunteers, community partners, and corporate sponsors, families are able to purchase and move into houses they help build themselves—allowing them to truly have a safe place they can call home.
