  • Congratulations to Erika L., Float Pool, for earning the PCT of the Year for this department! A colleague wrote, "When you think of that teammate you always want beside you, Erika is one of the first people that comes to mind. She brings her heart to work daily which is demonstrated by the care and compassion she shows all patients she cares for. Erika engages her patients and really gets to know them; they are not just the sitter patient in room 30 or the cellulitis patient in 76. This brings the care Erika gives to a personal level and her patients feel it. Her positive energy is contagious; she has a 'can do' attitude and will do whatever is needed to help a patient or a teammate. The compassion Erika shows to everyone is an inspiration to us all and helps our patients to feel they are getting the highest quality care possible. Erika’s peers recognize her often for going out of her way to help whenever possible. We are proud to have Erika a part of the Float Pool/PCS family." #NursingAssistantWeek #FloatPool #CareLikeFamily

  • Fourth of July is right around the corner. Independence Day is a great day to celebrate with friends and family but our four-legged pals don't like this holiday too much. Follow Tipper's Pet Safety Tips to keep your furry family members safe. 1. Loud noises can be frightening to pets so keep them in a secure, quiet location and play music to drown out the holiday sounds. 2. If your pet gets nervous with loud noises, consult your veterinarian prior to the holiday so they can prescribe something to keep them calm during the festivities. 3. Ensure your pet has a current ID tag and microchip information on file so if they get out, they can be identified when found. 4. Barbeques are fun but human food can cause tummy troubles for pets. Avocados, onions, chocolate and alcohol can be toxic so be sure they do not have access to these human favorites. 5. Keep your pet away from barbeque grills, sparklers, fireworks and glow sticks as they can cause burns or are toxic if chewed on. Be safe! #fourthofjuly #petsafety

  • This evening, Riverside Community Hospital hosted a special "Diet Coke" send off to Annette Greenwood, CNO, as she embarks on her promotion to Division Chief Nursing Executive at HCA's Far West Division. In gratitude of her nursing leadership at RCH and the countless ways she has impacted our patients, colleagues and community, we presented Annette with a DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award. Annette's contributions to our hospital will continue to grow as we are one of the seven lucky hospitals she will now oversee in her new role. So, while we are sad to see her move on, we are excited for her new journey and happy she will still be a part of our Riverside family. Thank you, Annette, for your dedication to our Mission and patients. Congratulations! #DAISYAward #LifetimeAchievement #ThankYou #Congratulations

  • When Samantha, a nurse on our Med Surg D3 unit, asked if she could host her United States Navy Swearing-In Ceremony here at Riverside Community Hospital, we were honored. Joining the U.S. Armed Forces to protect and serve your country is a noble and selfless decision, so fitting of a nurse who already gives her all to patients. We are so proud of Samantha and honored she chose to share this special moment with Riverside Community Hospital. Congratulations, Samantha! #USnavy #swearingin #congratulations
