The folks at Rise New Brighton recently joined forces with the New Brighton Community Center and some awesome volunteers from Cummins Inc. to sort through donated shoes for a fantastic local charity, Shoe Away Hunger. 👟🍲 After collecting shoe donations, our group of Rise persons served, team members, and volunteers spent a morning sorting and preparing these shoes to be sold for $5 a pair on the Shoe Away Hunger Bus! The proceeds will go directly towards purchasing food for those in need throughout Minnesota. 🍞🥫 We're proud to share that the shoes sorted by our group will generate enough funds to feed 770 people for one week, equating to 23,000 pounds of food! 🥳🥘 Participants from Rise loved giving back to their community, and we’re excited to partner with the New Brighton Community Center staff for another shoe sorting event in the future! 🎉👞
