Safety Catch! Nick was on a job site when he saw a traffic control sub-contractor rearranging cones on their truck. The employees did not realize they had backed up to a set of power lines. Two guys got in the back of the truck and came close to hitting the unnoticed lines with the cones. Nick approached the crew and pointed out the lines. He recommended that they move to a different location to rearrange the truck. Great catch, Nick!🙌 #safety #safetycatch

In October, the Petoskey team was triple-echelon paving on the I-75 Gaylord Business Loop project, which is a great-looking project! #tripleechelonpaving #echelonpaving #asphaltpaving #puremichigan

Safety Catch! While concrete paving on a local project, Don noticed a pothole (used to locate existing utilities) was not covered and delineated. He covered the hazard to ensure no one in the area was harmed. #safety #SafetyCatch

Safety Catch! Jim witnessed a near miss as a pickup truck was leaving the plant, and a tractor-trailer agg hauler was leaving the yard. The pickup approached the yard exit, and the tractor pulled out simultaneously. It was also wet, which was not suitable for stopping. Jim suggested adding either a yield or stop sign. Great suggestion, Jim. #safety #safetycatch

Our Gary team recently had the privilege of contributing to the Center for Possibilities in Hobart, IN. This organization, founded in the early '60s by contractors in the "Region," provides a welcoming space for individuals of all ages. At the center, children and adults have the opportunity to learn and develop crucial social skills. An added bonus was the festive spirit, as everyone was dressed up for Halloween! 🎃 #CommunityContribution #CenterForPossibilities #TeamGary

Safety Catch! Earlier this past summer, heavy rain created a large washout in the ramp coming into the pit. Kyle delineated it with barrels until they could get the loader and backfill it. All trucks use this entrance to come into the plant. #safety #safetycatch

Milo sets the bar high for safety with three safety catches this season, leading by example as a foreman. His positive attitude, dedication, and vigilance make him a role model for his team. The crew celebrated their commitment to safety and positivity with a well-deserved lunch provided by safety. #safety #safetycatch #leadership

The 2024 Golden Shovel competition was an incredible success! Despite facing strong competition, we are proud to have secured second place. The Civil Construction Pathway is not just growing; it's thriving, and this year's competition has only added to its promising future. We had the privilege of coaching two teams: Franklin Central High School (2nd Place Winners) and New Palestine High School. The teachers and students worked hard and did a fantastic job! The program's success is only possible with Eric Fisher with Work IN Roads/ Indiana Constructors, Inc.. Eric is ambitious and continues to push the limits. Yesterday, the result shined bright with the number of schools that competed and the number of spectators who came to show their support. We'd also like to thank @IUOE Local #103 for hosting and providing training facility tours and MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. and West Side Tractor for providing the equipment. Finally, a BIG THANK YOU to our coaches, Eric Holmes and Matt Sample, and our safety, Dan Livingston and Mitchel Russell. Your time, dedication, and hard work make this competition possible. 📸 ~ Work IN Roads and Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc.
