What's on your coffee table this summer ☕ ? If you're looking for a good read, we have you covered with four of our favorites! 📖 💫 All in her head: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center oncologist and medical historian Elizabeth Comen, MD draws back the curtain on the collective medical history of women to reintroduce us to our whole bodies—how they work, the actual doctors and patients whose perspectives and experiences laid the foundation for today’s medical thought, and the many oversights that still remain unaddressed. With a physician’s knowledge and empathy, Dr. Comen follows the road map of the eleven organ systems to share unique and untold stories, drawing upon medical texts and journals, interviews with expert physicians, as well as her own experience treating thousands of women. 💫 Bumpin: Written by Leslie Schrock, based on the latest clinical evidence and practical advice from top experts, Bumpin' enables you to make the best decisions for your unique family. With a look at the science, it tackles every pregnancy FAQ and topics like the truth about cleaning up your cosmetics, nutrition, epidurals, and activity; and the practical, like putting together a baby budget and navigating work. Bumpin' also takes you all the way through the postpartum period because taking your baby home and recovering brings unexpected physical, mental, and life changes that are too often overlooked for you and your partner. 💫 Fertility Rules:(Another fantastic read by Leslie Schrock!) Fertility Rules is your practical guide through that process, drawing on cutting-edge science to provide advice every step along the way, from the complexities of pre-conception planning to the nuances of conception itself and what to do if you run into challenges. Fertility Rules is the first preconception guide for both male and female fertility, and includes advice tailored to help protect the mental health of prospective parents from the stress, anxiety, and disappointment that often accompany the journey. 💫 100 Effed Facts about the Gender Health Gap: As part of Evvy's third annual Equal Research Day campaign, Evvy published this limited-edition coffee table book. The book consists of 100 shocking statistics about the gaps in women's healthcare across 12 categories: Autoimmune Disease, Brain Mental Health, Cancer, Endometriosis, Fertility, Maternal Health, Heart Health, Hormonal Health, Medical Gaslighting, Menopause, Menstrual Sexual Health, and Vaginal Urinary Health. Reflecting on the anniversary of the overturn of Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022. Legislative actions, protests, and numerous lawsuits have reshaped access. Abortion is currently prohibited at all stages of pregnancy, with few exceptions, in 14 states. In three additional states, it is restricted after approximately six weeks, often before many realize they are pregnant. Other states have implemented measures to safeguard abortion rights and have become havens for out-of-state patients seeking care. This is article by Geoff Mulvihill in The Associated Press provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of abortion care in the US:
