  • For the second year, RGA employees in Spain went the distance to support vulnerable children through the Aldeas Infantiles SOS de España solidarity race. The entire Spanish office took part in this virtual event, logging physical activities from running to walking to swimming, yoga, and more - all to raise funds and awareness for a vital cause. Aldeas Infantiles provides a caring environment for children in need across 136 countries. Through their fundraising race, organizations and employees could "move for a good cause" no matter where they were located. RGA was proud to answer that call to action – and see our dedication recognized when Aldeas Infantiles awarded prizes and diplomas to top participants. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Aldeas Infantiles for more events to come.

  • It was a summer of stewardship in Canada that took us from the heights of Mont Royal to the depths of the Humber River. Our mission: to protect and restore the natural world around us and create a deeper connection with nature. 🌿 RGA employees joined forces with Les Amis de la montagne to combat the invasive dog-strangling vine. Together, we uprooted over 2,000 of these plants from Mont Royal, protecting native species and the endangered monarch butterfly. 🌍In Toronto, our volunteers had a fantastic time with EcoSpark at Etienne Brule Park for a citizen science workshop. Equipped with river gear and life jackets, we collected data on pH levels, salt content, and water temperature, and gathered 60 benthic macroinvertebrates from the Humber River. A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for helping to protect Canada’s wild places from peaks to streams.

  • It was an inspiring four days at the 30th East Asian Insurance Congress (#EAIC2024) in Hong Kong! The theme, "Back to the Future – Empowering East Asian Insurers for 2044 and Beyond," set the stage for insightful discussions and innovative ideas aimed at transforming the insurance industry. RGA's Michael Shin joined an esteemed panel to discuss strategies for bridging the gap between the public's perception of insurance and the industry’s noble mission in protecting lives and communities. The panel stressed the importance of regulators working with the industry to foster transparency, consumer trust, and responsible innovation. Michael commented that, “the insurance industry must address perception issues through education, simplification, and innovation, focusing on transparency, affordability, and tailored solutions to increase relevance and penetration, emphasizing insurance's vital role in financial security and societal wellbeing.” We want to thank all the panelists, participants, and organizers of EAIC 2024 for such a successful event.
