  • Last week, RGA India hosted yet another successful session of the RGA Academy of Continued Education (RACE) Underwriting and Claims Seminar. It was a privilege to host 100 underwriting and claims experts representing 20 insurers to delve into the latest trends and challenges in the insurance industry. Some of the highlights from this year’s seminar included: ➡️ RGA India CEO Sunil Sharma, FIAI FIA’s welcoming remarks set the tone for a collaborative atmosphere for learning and growth. ➡️ Dr. Sheetal Salgaonkar enlightened attendees on new trends in coronary artery disease (CAD), discussing CT coronary angiography and RGA’s updated underwriting guidelines that address complex risk considerations in underwriting CAD. ➡️ Manu Garg captivated the audience with a discussion on how underwriters and claim accessors can enhance their risk assessment capabilities by understanding heuristics, cognitive biases, and other behavioral economics concepts. ➡️ Real-life case studies presented by Dr.Nutan Sankhe Wane, Dr. Manisha Kalaver, and Ganesh Patil provided insightful approaches to navigating ambiguity in complex medical documents and claims. ➡️ Dr. Dr Dhiraj G. and Stuart Lewis discussed developing protection products for the future while managing risk. Their focus on integrating design thinking principles to identify gaps and innovate in product development, while controlling operational risks, was particularly illuminating. We are proud of how the RACE seminars continue to be instrumental in enhancing the skills and knowledge that propel our industry forward.

  • A point of pride at RGA is our spirit of generosity, which is demonstrated in ways both big and small and is evident in our offices all over the world. Most recently, our teams across Asia-Pacific have dedicated their time and talents to several impactful community initiatives, underscoring our deep-rooted culture of care. 🛠️ In Thailand, teams partnered with the Santisuk Foundation to construct wheelchairs for orphaned children and individuals with mobility impairments. These efforts provided not only mobility but also hope and support to those in dire need. 🎁 During a workshop in Vietnam, colleagues transformed their creativity into kindness, collaborating with the Village of Hope to assemble goodie bags filled with essentials and toys for disadvantaged children. 🧸 In India, our partnership with SEVA - Charitable Trust involved crafting soft toys from recycled materials, which helped raise awareness about textile waste while bringing smiles to many young faces. 🍲 And in Australia, we joined forces with Dignity Homeless Services Australia helping to provide nutritious meals to the unhoused, ensuring they receive both sustenance and much-deserved respect. These initiatives not only highlight our commitment to enriching the communities in which we live and work, but they also strengthen our bond as one organization dedicated to positive change. Each project, supported by enthusiastic participation from our teams, showcases how collective efforts can make a substantial difference.
