The No. 25-ranked #Rutgers men's basketball program kicked off its most anticipated season in recent history tonight with a BANG! Thanks to the outstanding support from our #RFund members, the #ScarletKnights are able to accomplish big things on and off the court, so tonight we introduced the 𝗥 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲, which focuses on a student-athlete who's supporting effort in and out of the box score helped Rutgers to victory — that inaugural spotlight shines on freshman Lathan Sommerville! His 11 points (4-of-7 shooting) and game-high-tying eight rebounds were key in the Scarlet Knights' season-opening 75-52 victory over Wagner at Jersey Mike's Arena! #GoRU // #RFund // #TheKnighthood . . . This past week, the R Fund, Rutgers University Foundation and Rutgers University Alumni Association hosted an exclusive R Social (Thursday) and "Off The Banks" Pre-Game Tailgate (Friday) as the "Best Coast" traveled out to the West Coast to turn SoCal Scarlet. It was the first time since Rutgers University Athletics became a member of the Big Ten Conference that the #ScarletKnights traveled out to Southern California for a B1G football match-up.
