Sharing data and insights - listening and learning 👉 Challenges and opportunities in feedstock supply and Chemical Recycling... Two crucial fields for the future of packaging and circular materials were highlighted at back to back AMI conferences this week in Brussels. **Feedstocks**: CEFLEX shared results from a multi-country compositional analysis to research the type and amount of flexible packaging and rigid plastic packaging in the post-consumer waste stream 🚮 The research is providing valuable data to understand the collection, sorting and recycling infrastructure needed in each country and helping value chain and EPR collaborate together 💡 It shows the impact of a well-established, consistent and comprehensive collection system for recyclables; opportunities to better sort and recycle 40-60% of 'ready to recycle' mono-materials from the residual waste stream; and for continued progress in sustainable design. Great presentations, including an overview of Green Dot actions from Alexandre Dangis - including their tie up with Plastic Energy - and AMI consultant Elizabeth Carroll amongst others. 👩🔬 ♻ **Chemical recycling** is a key lever for food and contact sensitive packaging - which makes up nearly 50% of flexible packaging. Discussions are in full sway, including a panel today with Dana Mosora, Sander Defruyt and Raphaël Jaumotte on the future place, pace and development of chemical recycling in Europe and beyond.
