AMETEK Reichert's Jessica, Thomas, and Greigh recently presented IceCycle chair, Bill Loecher, with a check from the AMETEK Foundation, matching the funds they had raised earlier this winter when they participated in the IceCycle fundraiser for Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center of Buffalo, New York. IceCycle is a two-day annual fundraiser held at the outdoor ice rinks at Buffalo Riverworks in downtown Buffalo, in support of Roswell Park. The event brings together twelve spin and fitness studios to host cycling sessions, where all proceeds, registration fees, and fundraising pledges raised through IceCycle will support Roswell Park researchers in their investigation of new treatment options, facilitate clinical trials for both common and rare types of cancers, support the costs of important medical testing not covered by insurance, and make possible quality of life programs that assist with non-medical needs and help patients remember that cancer doesn’t define them. Jessica was able to ring the victory bell after the session to signify completion of her cancer treatments. This year's event raised over $685,000, in the mission to end cancer! She is a part of the first class of engineering associates who have completed the program since its inception in 2021. Over the past three years, Alexa worked with the teams at Gatan Inc., NSI-MI Technologies, and AMETEK Reichert – learning new skills and gaining valuable experience during her time at each of these AMETEK businesses. “This program has given me the rare opportunity to rake in an incredible amount of experience in completely different industries to broaden my skillset,” she says.
