This week our president, Zack Gharib, joined the Ohio hotels delegation at the American Hotel & Lodging Association's premier advocacy event #HotelsOnTheHill in Washington, D.C. This was a particularly important mission to advocate for some critical challenges and issues facing our hotel industry. The delegation focused on issues such as closing the workforce gap, preserving the franchise model and advocating for pro-small business tax policies. Our president's participation showcased how deeply we value the issues that matter the most to our franchisees, employees and the American worker and their families.

We offer our deepest sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of HSMAI's Bob Gilbert. He was a hospitality industry giant who led HSMAI and sales, marketing and revenue management within the industry with tireless dedication and compassion for more than 30 years.   Red Roof has had a longstanding relationship with Bob and HSMAI and we are deeply saddened by his passing. We know Bob’s significant impact and influence will live on.

American Business Women's Day, which is celebrated every year on Sept. 22, honors the accomplishments of the business women across the nation. On this day, we’d especially like to honor our more than 35% of Red Roof franchise owners and partial owners who are women. Today, we are proud to unveil our newest wall at Red Roof Headquarters, recognizing team members with 25 years of service. This group collectively represents more than 526 years of impeccable service to our franchisees, team members, partners and guests. Congratulations to all on this impressive milestone.

This past Friday, Red Roof employees brought their A-game to Columbus's annual Community Cup, hosted by The Columbus Foundation at Fortress Obetz. Competing against other local companies, the event featured games like dodgeball, tug of war and an obstacle course, along with a charity challenge and a tee shirt contest—think adult field day! We’re thrilled to share that our team placed 5th out of 17 teams in Division IV, a testament to the energy and dedication that defines Red Roof.
