This Saturday, our Rebuilding Together Houston team, in partnership with Telemundo Houston | KTMD, completed repairs on the home of Ms. Ninfa Giron in Magnolia Park. Ms. Giron's home, built nearly 100 years ago in 1930, is now safer and more resilient thanks to the hard work of Telemundo's leadership team and volunteers. Their efforts helped put the finishing touches on her home, rounding out Rebuilding Together Houston’s third annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and ongoing East End community revitalization. We are honored to help ensure that Ms. Giron can continue aging safely in place in her beloved home and community. We're especially grateful to Telemundo for helping us share our story, reinforcing our role as a trusted partner in culturally rich and diverse Hispanic communities like the East End. 💚🔨 #RebuildingTogether #TelemundoHouston #CommunitySupport

Welcome, Linda Borne! 💕 We are thrilled to announce that Linda Borne is joining Rebuilding Together Houston's board! With over 35 years of experience in human resources across the oil and energy industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge in HR strategy, talent development, and diversity and inclusion. Originally from Thibodaux, Louisiana, Linda now calls #Houston home. When she’s not making a difference in the workplace, you can find her enjoying mini vacations with family and friends, playing pickleball, or hitting the gym. Join us in welcoming Linda to our team! Yesterday’s celebration would not have been possible without the generous support of our presenting sponsor, Reliant Energy. For over 22 years, #Reliant has been an exceptional partner, providing Board leadership, more than 1,700 volunteers, and a total of 13,000 #volunteer hours to repair 88 homes. Since 2002, they have donated over $1 million for RTH’s home repair projects throughout the Greater #Houston area. We are truly humbled by their long-term commitment to creating safe and healthy communities! #RebuildingJuntos2024 #HispanicHeritageMonth

For over 90 years, Maria Sendejo’s home has been a cornerstone of her family, passed down through three generations. Originally built in 1935 and relocated within the same neighborhood, her home has witnessed decades of cherished memories. Now 76, Ms. Sendejo continues to call this home her own. She's helped raise 12 siblings and five children, and is now enjoying time with her six grandchildren, with another grandchild on the way. She's deeply rooted in her East End community. Through our work, we’re committed to ensuring homeowners like Ms. Sendejo can age safely in place, preserving not only their homes but their legacy in the community. #RebuildingTogetherHouston #RebuildingJuntos #EastEndHouston

Did you know that falls are the leading cause of injury among older adults? According to the National Council on Aging and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every 11 seconds, an older adult is treated in the ER for a fall-related injury. Every 19 minutes, an older adult dies from a fall in the U.S. At Rebuilding Together Houston, we're dedicated to making homes safer for our seniors by installing grab bars, repairing uneven flooring, adding non-slip surfaces, and more. Essential modifications like these help reduce the risk of falls, allowing seniors to age safely in their homes and communities. 🙌 #SafeAndSound #HomeSafety #HomeRepair
