We’re honored to take part in the 3rd annual Festival of Trees at Mackenzie Place - Fort Collins for Realities For Children!🎄 Each year, residents, businesses, and non-profit organizations come together to decorate and donate Christmas trees to families in need. This event is all about spreading warmth and cheer, not just for the residents at Mackenzie Place but for families across Larimer County who could use a little extra holiday magic. This is SERVPRO’s 3rd year participating and each year gets more and more incredible. Monica and Marvin have been foster parents with Larimer County since 2010. While raising their own kids, they have provided a safe and loving home for over 70 children and have adopted 3 of them. They have taken care of children who may have faced disruptions in other homes and kept youth out of higher levels of care and strongly advocated for the children's educational and mental health needs. Their nominator shared that they are patient, forgiving, loving, and resilient. They are the embodiment of what foster parents should be. The Child's Hero Award is given to a Larimer County Law Enforcement member who has demonstrated exceptional service to children and families. This year's award recipients are Lt. Jerrod Kinsman from Fort Collins Police Services and his wife, Paulina Campus. Their personal investment in caring for a 10-year-old girl who lost her mother and only family in the United States in a tragic traffic accident was not only above and beyond the call of duty but proves that family often grows in unexpected places. We would not be able to serve as many children as we do without the support and dedication of our volunteers. In 2023, Realities For Children filled 1,203 volunteer positions for 6,597 service hours. This year's Volunteer of the Year recipient has been involved in virtually every event, program, and service provided by RFC.
