Mission Statement Radio Milwaukee seeks to reach a new generation of radio listeners on air, online and in the community with a unique and adventurous selection of music and short-form public affairs programming. Launched in 2007, it celebrates Milwaukee – its music, arts and culture, neighborhoods and community organizations. The station celebrates diversity and encourages collaboration and community engagement, while promoting a positive global identity for Milwaukee. Why Radio Milwaukee Radio can be a “town square” for a community, a centerpiece of music, cultural and social happenings. It can also break down barriers and bring people together. However, radio in general has become increasingly corporate and generic as it moves away from local interests, personalities and community. Radio Milwaukee believes that it is possible to inspire positive change in the community by presenting a unique blend of music and public affairs programming that raise the social awareness and engagement of listeners and online audiences.

📻🎶 Today we launched “The Alphabetical Evolution of 88Nine.” We’ll spare you the gory details about how a person goes about constructing a playlist of this magnitude and just say our programming team spent many a bleary-eyed morning/afternoon/evening/night in front of a computer screen, plucking tracks from our massive library. In the end, what you’ll hear during the Fall Drive from Sept. 30 through Oct. 11 are the top-played songs from 88Nine’s 17 years as your music-discovery go-to. From “A-Punk” by Vampire Weekend to “Zebra” by Beach House, we started quite the journey today, and we hope you’ll join us on the road in the days ahead.

The evening will start on Radio Milwaukee's rooftop with drinks and appetizers, followed by "Karaoke for a Cause," an exclusive event with 10 singers performing karaoke on stage with a live band in the Radio Milwaukee performance space! But the party doesn’t end there! After "Karaoke for a Cause," 88Nine DJs will add to the atmosphere with a dance party that will include the opportunity to request songs through donations to Radio Milwaukee.
