RFA is a private, nonprofit news corporation informing audiences living in places with few alternatives to state-controlled and -influenced media through uncensored, in-depth journalism. RFA broadcasts in nine Asian languages including: Mandarin, Tibetan, Burmese, Vietnamese, Korean, Lao, Khmer, Cantonese, and Uyghur. RFA also operates websites carrying original news content in nine Asian languages, plus English, and several additional dialects. RFA is funded through an annual grant from the United States Agency for Global Media.

This week, RFA President Bay Fang participated in the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum in Bonn, Germany for a discussion on the danger of disinformation in democratic elections, and the growing threat of AI-generated content. In her remarks, Bay highlighted the broad authoritarian efforts to seed mistrust in democratic systems, as well as the resilience of Taiwanese voters amid China’s efforts to influence Taiwan’s presidential election earlier this year.
